THE STORY BEHIND MY OIL PAINTINGS
My love of oil painting spans my lifetime yet it wasn’t until 2018 that I finally decided it was time to give this medium a try.
I come from a long line of artists, and my grandma (who happened to live next door) was an oil painter. When I was eight years old, she took me to one of her oil painting classes. We each had our own canvas and after I managed to get a beautiful sunset full of vibrant colors across mine, I was afraid to paint the foreground… a black silhouette of a tree.
I just couldn’t bring myself to do it, for fear of messing up what I was so proud of already. Grandma smiled lovingly and knew just what to do. With the paintbrush in my left hand, she placed her right hand over mine and...
